Classification of electronic endoscopes

A medical endoscope is a tube with a light source that enters the human body through the natural cavity of the human body or a small incision in minimally invasive surgery to help doctors diagnose diseases or assist in surgery. A medical endoscope consists of three major systems.

The medical endoscope system includes an endoscope body, an image processing module, and a light source module, where the body contains an imaging lens, an image sensor, and an acquisition and processing circuit.

Endoscopes can be classified in many ways:

※ According to imaging principle, they can be divided into optical endoscopes, fiberoptic endoscopes and electronic endoscopes;

※ According to clinical application, they can be divided into digestive endoscopes, respiratory endoscopes, laparoscopes, arthroscopes, etc.

※ According to the number of uses, they can be divided into reusable endoscopes and disposable endoscopes;
